The Jerri Ryan line reminds me of a joke. I'm the worlds worst joke teller, but here goes.
The most obnoxious man in the world, a real retch of a man both physically and emotionally, dies.
St. Peter looks over his "record" and grimaces...then motions him to go "over there".
The man, fearing the worst of the worst punishments, finds the most stunning female creature (Jerri Ryan) he has ever seen, waiting in the room for him. He's so excited at his good fortune, he runs back to St. Peter and asks how could this be, "I've died and truly gone to heaven"...
St. Peter replies, "This is her punishment."

Well, I got a complement, AND it made Shatzy grumble...I can now go happily into room number two.
As for the nuances of the room, I don't think it matters, you can stock it however you want.
Whatever is in the room will probably be used as a weapon by the couple in room one before the five years is up.
Soul films, as for the TV idea. I see some funny scenarios developing.
The loner in room number two can see himself/herself on the TV show, and the loner can see how the other couple is doing...hehehehehe
Meanwhile, the room number one couple probably forgets that the whole world is watching since they have no television.
